Social Security Disability (SSDI)

SSDI — Social Security Disability Insurance — is a federal benefit program funded by the Social Security taxes you paid throughout your working life. If a medical condition now prevents you from working, SSDI provides monthly income to help you stay financially stable. Eligibility is based on your work history and the severity of your condition, not your income or savings.

SSDI is a federal benefit program for people who have worked, paid Social Security taxes, and are now unable to work because of a serious medical condition. If you've been denied — or you're not sure if you qualify — Marianne Rebel Brown, Esq. can help you understand your options and build the strongest possible case.

We proudly serve Gloucester County, Camden County, Burlington County, Cumberland County, Salem County, Ocean County, Atlantic County, and Cape May County, our federal jurisdiction practice allows us to represent Social Security Disability clients nationwide.

Eligibility

To qualify for SSDI, you generally need a sufficient work history and a medical condition that has lasted — or is expected to last — at least 12 months. We'll review your situation and tell you honestly where you stand.

Appeals

Most first-time SSDI applications are denied — but denial is not the end. We handle reconsiderations, ALJ hearings, Appeals Council reviews, and federal court appeals. We don't give up.

Understanding The Appeals Process

After a denial, you have 60 days to file a Request for Reconsideration. If denied again, you have 60 days to request a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge. For South Jersey claimants, hearings are held in Pennsauken, NJ. Most favorable decisions happen at the hearing level — this is where cases are won. If needed, we also handle Appeals Council reviews and federal court appeals.

You worked for these benefits. Let us help you fight for them.
